Pricing & booking
How much does a 60-minute massage cost in Buda, TX?
A 60-minute session at Pure Serenity is $120. Ninety minutes is $150 and 120 minutes is $200. Prenatal sessions are priced the same as standard ones. The doTERRA AromaTouch protocol is a $30 add-on to any session.
How far in advance should I book?
Three to seven days is comfortable, and weekend slots fill first. Same-day and next-day openings do come up, so it is worth checking the online calendar. If you are booking around a due date or for a gift occasion, give it one to two weeks.
Do you take walk-ins?
No. Pure Serenity is a single-therapist practice, so every session is by appointment. The online calendar shows real availability in real time, which is usually faster than calling.
What is your cancellation policy?
Twenty-four hours notice to cancel or reschedule. With one therapist, a late cancellation is an hour that cannot be filled, so late cancellations and no-shows may incur a fee.
Do you accept insurance?
Pure Serenity is private-pay and does not bill insurance directly. HSA and FSA funds are frequently eligible, especially for a documented condition, and a receipt is available for reimbursement. Check with your plan administrator first, since rules vary.
Do you offer gift cards?
Yes, through the same Square system used for booking. They are delivered digitally and can be applied to any service or session length.
Your first visit
What happens at my first massage?
Arrive five to ten minutes early. Jill will ask what brought you in, what hurts, what you do all day, and about any injuries, conditions, or medications that matter. Then she leaves the room while you get on the table under the sheet. The session is built from that conversation, and you can change your mind about pressure or focus at any point during it.
What should I wear, and do I have to undress?
Wear whatever is comfortable to arrive in. On the table you undress to your own comfort level and are draped with a sheet throughout, with only the area being worked on uncovered. Many clients keep underwear on. Nothing about this is negotiable on Jill's side.
Should I talk during the massage?
Entirely up to you. Some clients talk the whole hour, some say nothing after the intake. Both are normal. The one thing worth speaking up about is pressure, because guessing wrong in either direction wastes the session.
Is it normal to fall asleep?
Very. It means your nervous system genuinely let go, which is the point. You do not need to stay awake to get the benefit.
How will I feel afterward?
Most people feel loose and slightly sleepy for a few hours. After deep tissue work, mild soreness for a day or two is normal, similar to the day after a good workout. Drink water and move gently. Sharp pain or soreness lasting beyond three days is not expected and is worth mentioning.
Modalities & safety
Is prenatal massage safe during the first trimester?
Massage during the first trimester is generally considered safe with a trained therapist, though some practitioners prefer to wait until the second. Tell Jill your trimester when you book. If you have a high-risk pregnancy, preeclampsia, placenta previa, or a history of preterm labor, get written clearance from your OB or midwife first.
What is the doTERRA AromaTouch Technique?
A defined protocol in which eight CPTG essential oils are applied in a set sequence along the spine and on the feet, across four stages: stress management, immune support, inflammatory response, and homeostasis. Performing it requires certification through doTERRA. Jill is certified. It is not the same as a massage that happens to use scented oil.
What is the difference between deep tissue and Swedish massage?
Swedish uses lighter, flowing pressure across the whole body to calm the nervous system. Deep tissue uses slower, sustained pressure on specific areas to release stubborn tension. If you want to feel restored, book Swedish. If you want a particular area worked on, book deep tissue. Either can shift mid-session.
Does deep tissue massage have to hurt?
No. Effective deep tissue sits at the edge of comfortable, where you can still breathe normally and stay relaxed. Pressure past that point makes the muscle guard, which is the opposite of the goal. Jill checks as she works.
Are there times I should not get a massage?
Yes. Postpone if you have a fever or active infection, a new untreated injury, a blood clot or clotting disorder, or an acute flare of an inflammatory condition. Get clearance first if you are on blood thinners, are undergoing cancer treatment, or have a high-risk pregnancy. When in doubt, mention it at booking rather than at the door.
How often should I get a massage?
For an active problem area, every one to two weeks until it settles, then monthly to hold it. For general stress and desk-related tension, monthly is where most clients land. Jill will give you an honest read after the first session rather than selling a schedule.
